A bit of background info on me: I'm born and raised in Flatbush, Brooklyn, NYC. My first experience with traveling came at a few months old during a trip to Jamaica, West Indies, where both of my parents hail from. Later in my high school career, my love of traveling bloomed when I joined a Student Government trip to Europe in February 2007 for a 10-day excursion to visit Spain, England, and France. Let’s just say that’s when the travel bug truly stung me.
From that time on, I’ve been actively traveling, whether it be school-related or for personal adventures.
I’ll have to say that my college study abroad trip to Tanzania, East Africa during the summer of 2011 was the trip that made me realize that traveling is the source of my joy and inspiration. Those nine weeks of service, community engagement, and, simply, connecting opened my eyes to what it is I’d always been in search for.
Some years later and with a few countries under my belt, I am creating this virtual outlet for people to be inspired by what lies beyond our comfort zones and for those who have nudged me to share my experiences with the world.
Come along with me as I 'soulfully step' around the globe and delve into various cultures, experimenting with cuisines and languages, and my favorite part, connecting with amazing people...all while sharing bits and pieces of my personal journey.
